Turks and Caicos’ Highlights
Turks and Caicos is located next to the third largest barrier reef in the world. Located between the Atlantic Ocean and Caribbean Sea, the Turks and Caicos islands are separated into two groups. It is renowned for stunning wall dives with deep drop-offs into the blue. Most sites are protected from currents offering relaxing dives with great visibility.
Between December and May, there is a massive migration of humpback whales and nurse sharks which makes diving during the season exhilarating. While it’s only allowed to snorkel with these wonderful animals, a few divers each year have the chance to dive with these creatures. A variety of sharks can be spotted around these islands including nurse sharks, reef sharks and an occasional hammerhead.
When is the best time to go diving in Turks and Caicos?
You can dive in Turks and Caicos at any time of year. The main tourist season is between December and April. After that, the island is less crowded and more enjoyable to explore.
Water Temperature: In winter, the water is between 23°C and 26°C. In summer, the water is between 28°C and 29°C.
Currents: Generally calm conditions with little or no current
Visibility: Visibility is usually between 20 and 40 meters.

The Aquarium
The Aquarium is a famous dive site where you will feel as though you are diving in a real-life aquarium. Large schools of fish swim past in crystal blue water. There’s a high chance of spotting sharks and turtles.
Shark Hotel
An interesting dive site for shark lovers. Shark Hotel, located in Providenciales, gives you the opportunity to spot reef sharks. The wall starts at 5 meters and extends to over 50 meters covered in stunning hard and soft corals.
Amphitheater
Located in the Columbus Landfall Marine National Park, Amphitheater is named after the underwater bowl formation found below. The underwater Amphitheater is covered in soft and hard coral, home to a variety of fish and other marine life.
