Sweden’s Highlights
Sweden is not a famous diving destination but it does have some interesting wrecks. The Baltic Sea, with its cold water and low oxygen content, make it great for preserving 14th to 16th century ships. Conditions are tough and adequate exposure protection and training are essential. A dry-suit is highly recommended, even during summer when doing repetitive dives. The water tends to be dark with limited visibility.
There are plenty of interesting sites to go diving in Sweden located throughout the country.There are some stunning reefs in the nature reserve of Kullen, Släggö and Kosterhavet national park. Some of these sites even feature a variety of marine life, including crabs and sea stars.
When is the best time to go diving in Sweden?
Between September and November and between March and May the conditions are calmest and the visibility is at its best.
Water Temperature: The water temperature is low in winter and a chilly 2°C to 4°C and rises to about 20°C in summer.

Vagnharad Limestone Quarry
This site is where beginners go to learn due to its depth and visibility. The quarry has a depth of 45 meters making it suitable for beginner and deep diver certifications, and ice diving in winter.
Robert SS
An interesting wreck at a depth of 42 meter so reserved for experienced divers. Visibility is between 5 and 10 meters.
Sappemeer
A wreck located in the Baltic sea that sank in 1969 due to rough seas. Now lying at a depth of 25 meters, the wreck has several points that can be penetrated including the cargo area.
