Diving at Lac Lioson, Switzerland

Lac Lioson is a beautiful scuba diving destination in Switzerland. The clear waters and stunning scenery make it a popular spot for divers of all levels.

One of the best things about scuba diving in Lac Lioson is the chance to see some of the rarer species of fish that live in the lake. These include the brown trout, which is native to the area, and the Arctic char.

Ice diving is enjoyed at this lake during the winter months. A snow-mobile will take your gear from Les Mosses ski station. You’ll then put on snow-shoes and begin your hike to the lake which take roughly an hour and a half. With a refuge close-by after your dive you have a place to warm up. Some people even sleep over, and continue diving the next day.

There are three holes that are drilled into the ice and that are kept open during the winter months for ice diving. Lac Lioson is not known to have great visibility. Ice diving is not for everyone, especially when it’s at altitude. An ice-diving speciality is required to dive here during the winter.

Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced diver, Lac Lioson is a great place to explore the underwater world. So why not give it a try next time you’re in Switzerland?
