Scuba diving is fun for all ages. People often wonder what are the age requirements to dive.
Children as young as 10 years’ old can earn a scuba diving certification. Those between the ages of 10 and 12 should be accompanied by a parent during the above water explanations. Additionally, they should dive with a parent or professional at all times. In comparison, children between the ages of 12 and 15 can dive with anyone who’s certified. They can dive to 21 meters maximum.
Children mature at different speeds. A child’s temperament, personality and common sense should all be taken into consideration when deciding if a child is ready to dive. Whether a child is motivated to learn how to dive should also be considered. A child will be expected to complete all aspects of the course to the same level as adults.
Individuals over the age of 15 receive a full certification and can therefore dive to the relevant depths of each level.
